During the Coronavirus pandemic, the Elk Grove Chinese Association (EGCA) launched COVID-19 Relief Fund drive to raise funds to purchase personal protective equipment (PPE) for health care professionals who work at the frontline fighting the disease and saving lives. In two weeks between March 18 and April 1, 2020, the EGCA raised $8,900, contributed by 49 families and friends of the association (see the list of donors)。The EGCA used the fund to purchase 5130 face protective masks (model KN95) and pay for the shipments. These masks are donated to 11 hospitals, medical centers, and clinics local and afar.
