Eric Zhang
Eric Zhang graduated from Franklin High School in Elk Grove as one of the top ten ranked students in the class of 2016. He was a four-year member of the Mathletes Club and a three-year member of the varsity swim team. In addition, Eric participated in Key Club and National Honor Society. In his junior and senior years, Eric served as Mathletes co-president. He was a recipient of the National AP Scholar and Math Department awards. Eric completed 200 hours of community service with organizations such as the Bera for Congress 2014 campaign, the EGCA Talent Show, and Math Tutoring Program. Eric will attend University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) in the fall of 2016 majoring in mathematics.

Elk Grove Chinese Association Foundation Scholarship

Christina Chen The 17-year-old Christina Chen grows up along with the fellow students whose families are members of the Elk Grove Chinese Association (EGCA). She has enjoyed in participating in activities such as the EGCA talent shows serving as both a performer and an emcee. Between 2012 and 2016, Christina attended Franklin High School. She participated in the Japanese Scholar Exchange program in her junior year. During the two-week program, Christina hosted and spent time with a Japanese high school exchange student from Osaka, Mizuki Morikawa. Through this experience, she not only learned many cultural differences between America and Japan, but also made a great friend in the process. This fall, Christina is excited to start her undergraduate studies at University of California, Irvine, where she is admitted into the Biological Sciences Department. She is also highly interested in the Computer Science field, and hope to explore more areas of studies in her future classes.
Tiffany Huang Tiffany Huang graduated from Laguna Creek High School at Elk Grove in 2016. During high school years, she explored and learned a lot from many different areas and found her interests in painting and math. She joined the Sport Career Academy and helped with taking care of the injuries from school’s sports activities since her junior year. Tiffany has been an Honor student from the last four years. She will be attending the University of California, Riverside this fall majoring in Statistics.
/Kathleen Qin Kathleen Qin graduated from Franklin High School in Elk Grove with a grade point average (GPA) of 4.69. She has played on the Varsity Women’s Tennis Team all four years and contributed to her school’s record-breaking seasons. Kathleen was also involved in volunteering for National Honor Society and at a local senior home, along with welcoming incoming freshmen as a Link Crew Leader. Kathleen is attending University of California, Berkeley majoring in statistics.
Melody Wong Melody Wong graduated from Laguna Creek High School in the class of 2016 with a grade point average (GPA) of 4.23. Throughout high school, she was a member of National Honor Society, Key club, and many other clubs on the Campus for about 3 years. Melody was once a historian in Asian club. She has also won awards such as academic achievements, the Golden State Seal Merit Diploma Recognition, and the IB Art 2 Award. She is attending University of California, Davis this fall majoring in economics and design.
